Structures identified for change in use, additions, subject to deterioration, or originally under-designed often develop as projects suitable for supplemental support stabilization and/or enhancement.

CSI has extensive experience in this field, with many projects of a unique nature without any previous precedence.

Conventional stabilization / enhancement techniques include underpinning of foundations or the enlargement (addition) of structural elements.

In recent years, the use of carbon fiber technology to supplement concrete elements has proven to be very successful, and provides the added benefit of being suitable for some seismic retrofit projects.

Apart from the enhancement methods outlined above, specialized projects performed by CSI include the use of grout and helical anchors in ground stabilization, steel rods for timber truss strengthening, and various types of post tensioning repairs.
