John W. Weeks House (HISTORICAL)Owner: Newton Community Development Foundation (NCDF)
Location: Newton, MA
Engineer/Architect: Gale Associates
Contracting Specialists completed the exterior masonry restoration of The John W. Weeks House (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) in Newton, Massachusetts.
The project was performed for Newton Community Development Foundation (NCDF) and designed by Gale Associates. The million dollar exterior renovation of the gothic-revival former junior high school, consisted of cast stone replacement, cast stone patching, brick masonry re-construction and re-pointing, crack injection and masonry coatings. In addition, it included new intricate copper molded cap flashings and copper roofs.
During construction the NCDF was able to maintain full operations with its elderly occupants as we restored the exterior with minimal disruptions to their everyday activities.
The project progressed on schedule and on budget, even with the additional challenges encountered during the construction process.
