Harbor Garage, Boston MA

Since 2002 CSI has performed in excess of $ 2.5 M dollars of repairs and modifications to the Harbor garage facility. The majority of this work has entailed Concrete restoration and waterproofing. CSI was also the General Contractor charged with the installation of the automated pay system adopted by the garage including the modifications to the entrance.

In 2007 the garage was bought by the Chiafaro Company with near future plans to redevelop the parcel as an additional landmark location along the waterfront. As part of the interim repairts and maintenance, CSI was awarded the contract to repair structurally compromised and deteriorating vertical and overhead concrete elements to maintain the viability and utility of this integral parking system.

This involved the identification of the deteriorated locations and their subsequent demolition, reinforcement and repair. The location of many of the repairs above commercially occupied space, including parts of The New England Aquarium, required the utilization of a uniquely designed shoring scheme to maintain structural integrity, and eliminate the need to transfer loads via shoring towers into the commercial space below. All of the repairs were undertaken while keeping the garage operational and with minimal impact on the users of the facility.
